The growing fleet of electric trucks serving the Port of Long Beach will be able to charge at a new depot scheduled to begin construction in mid-2024 along Pico Avenue just north of the Long Beach International Gateway Bridge. The San Pedro Bay ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles will postpone consideration of the 'Container Dwell Fee' for four weeks, until Sept. 23, 2022. Since the programme was announced on Oct. 25, 2021, the two ports have seen a combined decline of 46% in aging cargo on the docks.  The executive directors of both ports will reassess fee implementation after monitoring data over the next month.
