On February 15, 2022, CULINES and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company signed an order for 2*2,700TEU container newbuildings. A signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of Guangzhou Port Group.
Mr. Yibo Li (Chairman at Guangzhou Port Group), Mr. Xiaoming Song (DGM at Guangzhou Port Group), Mr. Lingtang Zheng (DGM at Guangzhou Port Company), Mr. Huiming Xiang (Chairman at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding), Ms. Xi Li (DGM at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding), Mr. Feng Liang (GM at China Classification Society Guangzhou), Mr. Yu Yang (GM at Asia & Pacific Department of China Shipbuilding Trading), Mr. Raymond Chen (Chairman & CEO at CULINES), Mr. Kevin Ding (EVP at CULINES) and other executives, and guests from partners attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing.
Newbuilds with Selective Catalytic Reduction system
These vessels are fitted with AMP (Alternate Marine Power), which could realise zero emission at berth
The newbuildings ordered are the latest environmentally friendly type with LOA 188.8 m, breadth 32.2 m, depth 17.2 m, and GT 34,230 mt. They are equipped with the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, which meets the Tier III and Phase 3 requirements on NOx emission reduction and thus could sail to any ports and ECA (emission control areas) worldwide.
Also, these vessels are fitted with AMP (Alternate Marine Power), which could realise zero emission at berth. All these could show that CULINES is actively fulfilling its mission to create social benefits and protect the environment. These newbuildings are to be delivered from the second half of 2023 and planned to be classed by China Classification Society.
CULINES and CSSC Huangpu partnership
This is their second order with CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, after the 4*1,900TEU order of container vessels at the beginning of last year.
The cooperation between CULINES and Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding demonstrates the joint efforts for the long-term stability of China’s export supply chain, the security and stability of certain areas, and the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area.
It’s also their proactive concrete actions upon the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan of Water Transport Development lately issued by the Ministry of Transport on promoting smart and environmentally friendly vessels and encouraging the long-term win-win cooperation between shipping and shipbuilding companies.
CULINES optimises their fleet structure
They have purchased from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding - two 2,800TEU second-hand container vessels
Recently, they have also purchased from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding - two 2,800TEU second-hand container vessels, which are expected to be delivered and put into operation between May and August this year.
Through newbuilding, second-hand vessel purchase, and the combination of short-term and long-term charter parties, CULINES has been optimising their fleet structure with attention on both spot and mid- and long-term markets, so as to offer regular, reliable, and efficient services, realise sustainable corporate development, and actively make contribution to the stability and development of China’s foreign trade supply chain.
