Principal Consultant, DNVEirik has worked with several different alternative fuels for ships in several projects and has previously specialised in fuel cells and batteries for hybrid systems, and battery-powered ships. With over 14 years of industry expertise and 18 years since the commencement of his Ph.D. studies, Eirik has a unique blend of knowledge. His interest in the environment is present through his work at DNV's research department and as a consultant. Eirik has contributed to multiple projects aimed at decarbonising shipping: electric fast ferries, hybrid ships, fuel cells running on LNG and methanol, and projects aiming to use hydrogen or ammonia as fuel. He has also been the lead author for DNV’s Maritime Forecast to 2050 report for the past two years.
