The search for sustainable innovation, quality, and trust in everything WEG thinks and does resulted in the W23 Sync+.

Efficiency ratings

This new line offers the highest efficiency on the market, with synchronous electric motors that reach the IE5 rating.

The low consumption of electrical energy due to their high efficiency also generates a positive balance for the environment, contributing to the reduction in CO2 emissions, in addition to having a much lower total cost of ownership because of reduced maintenance expenses and their long service life.

W23 Sync+ IE5

High-efficiency motors are one of the main means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions

For example, when replacing a 500 kW IE3 induction motor with the W23 Sync+ IE5, the energy consumption is lower by 505.33MWh1 throughout its service life, which represents 182.88 tCO2 of avoided emissions.

High-efficiency motors are one of the main means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving decarbonisation goals.

Installations and applications

Maintaining the power-per-frame ratio of induction motors, IE5 motors of the new line are available in the same frame size as IE3 motors, which makes them easily interchangeable with existing installations.

They are suitable for a great variety of applications, such as pumps, compressors, fans, and conveyors, in addition to being an efficient solution for various decarbonisation options like carbon capture systems, green hydrogen generation, biofuel plants, etc.

Frame sizes

W23 Sync+ motors operate under the same conditions maintaining high performance

Driven by a frequency inverter, the W23 Sync+ is available in frame sizes IEC 80 to 450 (NEMA 140 to 7000) with outputs from 0.75 to 1250 kW. This is the widest range of IE5 motors available on the market.

Furthermore, while conventional induction motors present losses of up to 20% in efficiency when subjected to speed and load variations, the W23 Sync+ motors operate under the same conditions maintaining high performance, being able to operate with constant torque over a wide speed range without the need for forced ventilation.

High power factor

Another important advantage is the high power factor available with this technology, ensuring better energy quality and lower installation costs.

WEG is always looking for efficient and sustainable solutions, lowering the consumption of raw materials and developing high-technology products, which reduce impacts on the environment and contribute to cutting down greenhouse gas emissions.
