WE Tech Solutions. Oy, the energy efficiency solutions provider, has received an order to deliver its solution one economical operations to six 174k LNG Carriers for Hyundai LNG Shipping.

The vessels are to be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. and the equipment delivery from WE Tech to the shipyard will commence in October 2022. The economical operations solution package featured with innovative Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Shaft Generators and WE Drives™ are the benchmarking solution of LNG Carriers.

Electrical power distribution

The solution delivered decreases fuel consumption and this way operational cost by improving the energy efficiency of the vessel. In Power Take Out (PTO) mode, the electrical power distribution will be supplied from shaft generator alone via the WE Drive™ and thus the auxiliary generators can be stopped. WE Tech’s full scope of supply for the Hyundai LNG Shipping’s new vessels also includes engineering, project management, commissioning and after-sales services.
