On December 19, 2020, SITC International and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding held a ceremony for the naming and delivery of the new ship, ‘SITC Penang.’

Mr. Yang Xianxiang, Vice Chairman and CEO of SITC International, together with his wife, Mr. Lu Jing, President of Shanghai Maritime University, Ms. Cao Hongfen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Maritime University School of Commerce, Mr. Xiao Yingjie, Dean of Shanghai Maritime University School of Merchant Marine, and Chairman of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Mr. Le Tian, ​​Mr. Xiao Senyuan, Vice President of SITC, Mr. Lv Zhiyong, President of Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute, Mr. Chen Keng, Vice President of DNVGL Group, and representatives of teachers and students of Shanghai Maritime University attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Yang Xianxiang, CEO of SITC International, and Ren Letian, Chairman of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Industry, both stated that under the background of normalisation of epidemic prevention and control, the two sides will promote each other and develop together, always maintain a close and good cooperative relationship, and continue to build a green, environmentally friendly, Smart ships add to the development of the shipping industry.

Mr. Lu Jing named the new ship, and Ms. Cao Hongfen, the godmother of the new ship, cut cables and threw champagne for the new ship, wishing the new ship a smooth delivery and a safe return.
