Ship Data Center Co., Ltd. (ShipDC) has started a connection confirmation service for the shipboard data server and applications software on IoS-OP (Internet of Ships Open Platform).
On IoS-OP, ship operations data is transmitted from shipboard data collection and communication devices to the onshore data centre, and it is used in various applications software, such as operation monitoring and performance analysis.
Shipboard data server
As the efforts for IoS-OP are becoming more active on both ‘Platform Provider (PP)’ which provides shipboard data server and ‘Solution Provider (SP)’ which provides applications software, the number of product combinations that can be used is increasing.
ShipDC has therefore started a service for the shipboard data server to publish the confirmation results
ShipDC has therefore started a service for the shipboard data server and applications software to publish the confirmation results by testing the unit connection between each product and the data centre, and also the integration connection between specific PP and SP products. When the shipping company selects application software, it can easily identify the combination of application software compatible with the shipboard data server installed on the target ship.
Certified innovative technologies
Prior to the official launch of this service, a proof of concept was conducted with the volunteer PPs and SPs of the IoS-OP Consortium, and the products and combinations of products whose unit connection and integration connection in the PoC tests have been confirmed will be available on ShipDC website soon.
Furthermore, by submitting the confirmed report issued by ShipDC for ClassNK’s Innovation Endorsement on products and solutions, its certification service for innovative technologies, it will be indicated on the ClassNK certificate that the product is confirmed to be compatible with IoS-OP. ShipDC will continuously endeavour to promote initiatives activating the digitalisation of maritime clusters.
