SCH’s sister company Cruise and Passenger Services (CPS) is to sponsor the latest meeting of the industry association Cruise Britain in Portsmouth on June 21-22.

The professional network of British ports, ground handlers, and port agents plays a key role in promoting Britain to the global cruise industry and the meeting in Portsmouth will give CPS the opportunity to show off its offering as a passenger valet parking supplier.

Passenger valet parking

The two-day meeting will start with a dinner and reception on the Victorian iron-clad warship HMS Warrior and will be followed by a meeting the next day when representatives will discuss the re-emergence of cruising after the pandemic and other topical issues.

CPS is one of the providers of passenger valet parking with operations in Southampton

Visitors will also get the chance to view the development of new cruise facilities at Portsmouth. CPS is one of the providers of passenger valet parking with operations in Southampton, Portsmouth, Liverpool, and Dover, besides a booking service for Tilbury. It handles some 90,000 cruise passenger vehicles every year.

Medium-sized ships

In addition, sister company Southern Maritime Services (SMS) provides a turn-key cruise handling service in Portsmouth, including mooring support, baggage handling, and ship stores loading.

Cruise Operations Manager Louis Colpitts commented: “This latest meeting of Cruise Britain is a great opportunity to showcase Portsmouth as a turnaround port for small and medium-sized ships, besides its attraction as a destination for day callers. It’s also a great chance for CPS to support the organisation and a platform for us to show what we have to offer in cruise parking and related services.”
