Thai-based RCL is pleased to announce the launch of its new service between Central China and Thailand. The port rotation will include Shanghai – Ningbo – Laem Chabang – Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) – Thai Sugar Terminal (TST) - Laem Chabang – Manila (North) – Shanghai.

RBC5 and Jaru Bhum

RCL will contribute 2 Bangkok maxed vessels, with another vessel from Cosco Shipping in a 21-day rotation

Starting 16 August from Shanghai, the service is being branded as “RBC5” which is a joint service between RCL and Cosco Shipping. RCL will contribute 2 Bangkok maxed vessels, with another vessel from Cosco Shipping in a 21-day rotation.

RCL's latest deliveries in 2018 i.e. Jaru Bhum and the Khuna Bhum will be employed on this service. The Jaru Bhum will be making its maiden voyage on the 16 August in Shanghai to start this service, with arrival in PAT on the 26 August 18.

Transit time

According to Mr. Charlie Chu, EVP (Business), “RBC5 will be our third sailing between Central China to PAT. RBC5 will provide the industry's best transit time between Ningbo to Laem Chabang and PAT of 6 and 8 days respectively.

"RBC5 is a response to customers' request for higher frequency and faster transit between Shanghai and Ningbo to PAT and Laem Chabang and vice versa. Together with pre-existing RBC and RBC2, customers in Central China and Thailand can enjoy the ease of booking with RCL in both directions. By also putting in our newest vessels on this service, it also underscores RCL's commitment to providing a top-quality product to our valued customers.”

Added convenience

In addition, Mr. Chu added that “RCL will also provide a direct link between Bangkok river ports and Laem Chabang to Manila."

"RBC5 will be another sailing to our existing RLM service for Laem Chabang to Manila and provide our valued customers in Thailand with the added convenience of choosing RCL.”
