This year, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show welcomed over 43,000 visitors who were able to view hundreds of boats, on and off the water, and thousands of products from over 300 exhibitors.

The 33rd annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) was held on the Gold Coast of Australia from May 19th – 22nd, and what a show it was! This year, SCIBS welcomed over 43,000 visitors who were able to view hundreds of boats, on and off the water, and thousands of products from over 300 exhibitors.

Providing innovative solutions

This year was a big show for Propspeed, as they announced their new partnership with Marine Protection Systems, aimed at educating and providing innovative solutions to prevent corrosion and minimise damage to vessels and the marine biosphere.

Demonstrations were conducted daily throughout the show, and these were a big success

In addition to the announcement of their partnership was the unveiling of the new Corrosion Protection Tank, which is used to demonstrate the relationship and performance of various anodes and coatings. Demonstrations were conducted daily throughout the show, and these were a big success with show attendees. “It was great to be able to reconnect with our Australian customers and partners at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Even though the weather was wet and a bit chilly, we had some great visitors to the Propspeed & Marine Protection Systems stand,” said Nona Pedersen, General Manager, Propspeed.

Largest boating supplies

We had our newly launched corrosion tank on display and were able to demonstrate the relationship between coatings and anodes, and the difference between Propspeed, regular antifoul paint, and a bare propeller.”

Propspeed also recognised their dealer of the year, Marine Trade Supplies – The Boat Works, the first time they have presented a company with this award. Marine Trade Supplies is Australia’s largest boating supplies and chandlery store, located within The Boat Works Shipyard. All in all, while the weather did not want to cooperate for all four days, the team didn’t let it dampen their spirits and were incredibly pleased with the turnout.
