Francesca Antonelli, the Head of Marketing and Cruises of the València Port Authority (PAV) has been in charge of handing over the traditional socarrat – the Valencian terracotta tile designed with maritime motifs that Valenciaport gives to the ships that dock for the first time at its facilities – to the ship’s Captain - Per Kristoffersen.

The Odissey of the Seas cruise ship

The Odissey of the Seas ship of the Royal Caribbean shipping company has a length of 348 metres and a beam of 49 metres, 16 decks and capacity for some 5,000 passengers. It has 15 restaurants, two swimming pools, a climbing wall, a skydiving simulator and another with waves for surfing.

In addition, the North Star, an arm that raises a glass observatory dome from the upper deck, rises up to 91.4 metres above sea level, stands out.

Wide range of leisure activities available for passengers

The ship’s passengers will carry out various activities during their stay in Valencia

The ship’s passengers will carry out various activities during their stay in Valencia. In addition to visiting the city, they will go on excursions to the Albufera, the Oceanogràfic and the Lladró factory, among others.

The city of Valencia is a medium-sized destination for the sector, offering a wide range of urban and countryside activities, in addition to new alternatives for lovers of the outdoors, sports and hiking, and more sustainable options such as bicycle and skateboarding tours.

City of Valencia facilitates mobility

In addition, gastronomic, cultural, wine, musical or historical experiences are promoted, making València a multiple and varied experience that facilitates mobility and avoids saturation of destinations.

In fact, the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) and the Provincial Council of Valencia are preparing a plan to boost the activity of cruise tourism in the inland regions and municipalities of the province that want to attract these tourists who dock throughout the year at the docks of the Port of Valencia.
