Neander Motors has broadened its US distributor network by partnering with Boatswain’s Locker, a supplier of marine propulsion engines to commercial marine customers.

Boatswain’s Locker was established in 1939, operating as one of the original boatyards in Newport Beach, California. Since then, it has shifted location to Costa Mesa and evolved to become a wholesale marine engine distribution and service business.

One-stop-shop solution

Boatswain’s Locker will add Neander’s Dtorque 50 engine to its offering to customers throughout Western North America, Hawaii, and Mexico.

As a joined service company, aiming to provide a “one-stop-shop” for its customers, Boatswain’s Locker has a team of marine professionals on hand to provide technical engine servicing and customer support.

Short-term goals

The partnership aims to raise the awareness of an already proven product in the local market

In the short term, the partnership aims to raise the awareness of an already proven product in the local market and from there, make Neander the diesel outboard choice throughout the territory.

The Boatswain’s Locker sales team has already begun sales outreach to target customers and has been receiving engaged interest and positive responses.

Delivering marine-powered solutions

Lance Henrichsen, Sales Director at Boatswain’s Locker, comments, “We are ecstatic to be joining Neander’s distributor network and to bring the Dtorque 50 engine to the Western US market."

"The synergy between our two companies is ideal, and the partnership will help further our goal of providing everything our customers need for their marine-powered solutions. We believe diesel is the future of the outboard industry and that Neander’s high caliber and proven products are the way forward.”

Marine professional support

Neander’s Global Sales Director, Joel Reid, comments, “Boatswain’s Locker is the first name that comes to mind when thinking of marine professional support on the West Coast of America. I have known and worked with the team for over 7 years and their approach to business and customer support is second to none.”

The business culture aligns perfectly with Neander, with quality and a focus on the customer above all else. I couldn’t think of a better partner for Neander on the West Coast and I can’t wait to work closely with Lance and the whole team in California.”
