The Port of Poole proudly welcomed MS Hamburg, a cruise ship operated by Plantours Kreutzfahren, on her maiden call on Wednesday, 9th October 2024.
A commemorative plaque exchange ceremony took place between Poole Harbour Commissioners’ Harbour Master, Harry Gregory and the Captain of the cruise ship, Captain Igor Gaber, celebrating this special occasion.

The MS Hamburg, a 144-metre-long cruise vessel, arrived at Poole after calling at London. With 319 passengers on board, the ship continues its journey onward to Cornwall, Ireland, the Isle of Man, then back to Portsmouth, showcasing the beauty of the British Isles to its guests.
“We are delighted to welcome the MS Hamburg to the Port of Poole. This visit strengthens our position as a growing destination for cruise ships and maritime tourism. We hope this is the first of many visits from MS Hamburg and her fleet,” said Harry Gregory.

The event highlights the Port of Poole’s ongoing efforts to attract more cruise visits to its port, providing a gateway for tourists to explore the rich history and natural beauty of the South Coast with its prehistoric Jurassic Coastline.
MS Hamburg‘s guests enjoyed a brief but memorable stop in Poole, with many taking the opportunity to visit local attractions, such as a walking tour of Poole and Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens amongst other excursions.
