The Ontario Technical Investigators Association (OTIA) aims to:
- promote education in the field of technical surveillance;
- to increase technical skills and knowledge in the areas of technical surveillance and law enforcement activities through training, the exchange of ideas and experience;
- the development of new techniques and equipment;
- increase understanding of the laws relating to technical investigative surveillance;
- to promote inter-force communications in the discipline;
- and to plan, organise and administer meetings and other projects for the stimulation and advancement of these and related purposes.
