Maersk appoints Aruna Hussain as Managing Director of Sealand – A Maersk Company, Europe & Med. effective 1 March 2022. Aruna started her career at Maersk in 2000 where she worked in Liner and Trade roles in Pakistan and the UK before moving to Damco in Pakistan.

After several years with Maersk, Aruna left for Australia in 2010 and worked for a few years in the e-commerce and retail space as Supply Chain and Operations Director for Australia at the US-based e-tailer, Wayfair. In 2016 she moved back to Pakistan and re-joined Damco first as Country Head and then as Chief Operations Officer for the Middle East. Aruna is currently Area Managing Director for Maersk in Pakistan.

Delivering strong performance

Aruna has led leadership and transformation roles in various geographies including Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Middle East within and outside of Maersk.

Simplifying supply chains

Taking over the role on 1 March, Aruna comments: “I am delighted to take on the role as Managing Director for Sealand, Europe & Med. The pan-European market is huge, with evolving supply chain patterns, shifts in sourcing, and fast-paced technological advancements.”
