Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) is pleased to announce the relocation of its Kakinada Site Office to a new and improved facility.

This move forms part of IRS’s ongoing efforts to enhance its presence in the region and offer superior services to the local maritime community.

Inauguration ceremony

The inauguration ceremony of the new office was marked by the presence of key stakeholders from across the maritime and oil & gas sectors. 

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from private vessel owners, government authorities, private shipyards, representatives from the Defence sector, and other valued partners.

The enhanced facility is strategically positioned to cater to the needs of the significant offshore industry operating along the East Coast of India, particularly in and around the KG basin, which is home to extensive oil & gas exploration and production activity.

This strategic upgrade underlines IRS’s commitment to strengthening its regional footprint, fostering closer industry engagement, and ensuring timely, competitive and high-quality services to clients operating in and around the East Coast.

Maritime and offshore ecosystem

Mr. Saikat Roychowdhury, Head of Operations, said, "The relocation of our Kakinada office reflects IRS’s commitment to strengthening regional engagement and supporting the maritime and offshore ecosystem in this part of the country."

He adds, "The upgraded facility is better equipped to serve our clients with enhanced efficiency and responsiveness, aligning with our long-term vision for service excellence and industry collaboration."
