In support of international military collaboration and exchange, the organising committee of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference 2020 (DIMDEX 2020) will host the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC), under the theme – ‘Resilience in the Maritime Domain - Confronting Asymmetric Threats’. The upcoming MENC edition will feature panel discussions that will once again address current multifarious naval security challenges.

Under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Defence Affairs, MENC returns to deliver active discussion, exchange and knowledge advancement among global security experts. It will take place on the 17th of March 2020, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), in Doha, Qatar.

The Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) is one of the key features of each edition of DIMDEX, bringing together renowned academics and industry experts from around the world, to discuss the latest regional and international trends in maritime defence and security on strategic and operational level.

Dr. Andreas Krieg, MENC Director, said “MENC provides a forum for an international cohort of policy makers, defence officials and academics to investigate the future of maritime security in the civilian and military space. We have chosen the concept of ‘resilience’ in the context of maritime security, to encourage a more diverse discussion on the multi-dimensional challenges affecting the maritime domain, and obtain a more holistic idea of the drivers of maritime security considerations from the Arabian Gulf to the Arabian and Red Sea.

Andreas Krieg adds, “With a uniquely diverse panel of speakers, we can guarantee that MENC provides a platform for dialogue that opens new avenues for future trends and policies in the maritime security and defence sector.

DIMDEX 2020

Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference 2020 (DIMDEX 2020) will also offer unprecedented business opportunities, allowing government entities and industry peers from around the world, a platform to showcase the latest technologies and to form new partnerships.

In the 2018 edition, DIMDEX drew over 13,000 visitors, in including 180 exhibitors, leading to a record-breaking 35 agreements, partnerships, and memorandums of understanding.
