DNV, the classification society, is pleased to announce that Jose Maria Izquierdo will step into the role of Area Manager for Iberia, Italy and Malta with effect from 1 June 2023. He succeeds Lucas Ribeiro, who was appointed Regional Manager for West Europe in March.

The maritime industry in Spain is currently witnessing a paradigm shift, with emerging opportunities and challenges as the country strives for a greener, more sustainable future. To support its customers and the industry to achieve their strategic goals, DNV has appointed Jose Maria Izquierdo Area Manager for Iberia, Italy and Malta.

Enhancing customer engagement

Jose Maria Izquierdo is based in Madrid, Spain, where he will lead key initiatives to enhance customer engagement and ensure that DNV remains at the forefront of the maritime industry in the Area Iberia, Italy, and Malta.

Deep technical knowledge

Jose Maria Izquierdo graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

He began his journey with DNV in 1994 as CMC and FIS Surveyor based in the Barcelona office. In 2014, he assumed the role of Station Manager for Spain’s east coast, overseeing the operations of DNV’s offices in Barcelona, Valencia and Cartagena. Before being appointed Area Manager, Iberia, Italy and Malta, in 2019 he was the NB & CMC Service Line Manager for Iberia.
