From October 2020 to late January 2021, Blue Water completed three project shipments of equipment from Italy to Northern China for a good client.

The total weight of the cargo consisting of 142 units was 895 tonnes, the heaviest units weighing 162 tonnes each. The equipment was to be installed on board an FPSO vessel (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) at a shipyard in China.

Project

The project was executed with the local manufacturer in Italy, the client in China, and BWS's trusted suppliers

The project was executed in close cooperation with the local manufacturer in Italy, the client in China, and BWS's trusted suppliers. The scope included supervision of container stuffing at the manufacturer’s facilities, and local road transport from various locations in Livorno and Massa, Italy to the loading ports Livorno and Marina di Carrara.

Additionally, port handling, storage, loading on board the ocean vessel, sea freight, and discharging in China were BWS's responsibility.

Efficient teamwork

It was very important that the cargo arrived in China within specific dates to meet the installation on board the FPSO. However, finding the right vessel for the project was quite a challenge due to the increasing demand in the market over the past few months."

"But fortunately, we succeeded in delivering all items on time in an efficient teamwork between our Chartering desk in Esbjerg and our project teams in Italy and Singapore,” says Therkel Iversen, Project Manager, Project & Chartering, Blue Water Singapore.
