Product of the Year initiative recognises innovation and novel applications of new technology

The show’s Product of the Year initiative recognises innovation and novel applications of new technology within the recreational boating sector.

Winning entries are selected on the basis of three key criteria: they represent groundbreaking technology that significantly improves boating experience, efficiency or safety; they reflect eco-friendly designs or materials that contribute to reducing environmental impact; they incorporate new features that make boating easier or more enjoyable for a wider range of users.

Autonomous navigation solutions

We are truly honoured that NeuBoat has been awarded the grand prize at the Korea International Boat Show,” said Dohyeong Lim, CEO of Avikus. “This recognition marks a significant milestone, demonstrating that the physical AI-driven mobility revolution is becoming a reality in the boating industry."

"We believe that ADAS technology will dramatically enhance safety and convenience in boating, maximise enjoyment and ultimately drive the popularisation of boats. With this vision, we have been dedicated to developing autonomous navigation solutions that empower boaters to navigate with confidence and arrive safely.”

Fatal boating accidents

Avikus NEUBOAT is an autonomous navigation solution for leisure boats, designed for both novice and experienced boaters. According to the U.S Coast Guard (USCG), 81% of fatal boating accidents are attributed to operator error.

To address this, NEUBOAT goes beyond a standard chartplotter by using sensor fusion technology to display real-time obstacle data and suggest collision avoidance routes. Its advanced features aim to enhance safety and ease for all users. Additionally, six onboard cameras provide users with a surround view, enabling safer and easier docking.
