Event Overview:
Portugal Shipping Week 2024
Portugal Shipping Week 2024 (PSW24) will once again showcase Portugal as a global shipping and maritime logistics centre and an increasingly important player in the European and global energy transition. Indeed, at its core will be the decarbonisation of shipping and ports, and how national governments, ports, terminals and the shipping community are preparing.
PSW24 features a Flagship Conference on 7 May at the iconic Gare Maritima de Alcantara, a former cruise terminal on the banks of the River Tagus, which will look at recent and upcoming regulations as they impact shipping, the marine fuels sector, terminals and ports.
PSW 2024 will also be the location for this year’s ship.energy summit – last held in Valencia in 2022 and Madrid in 2023. The summit, to be held on 8 May, has the headline theme of Sustaining momentum: sourcing technology, finance and skills for shipping’s decarbonisation, and will include a session led by Euromar.
The week also include a focus on training for Portugal’s merchant fleet, in-depth courses on alternative fuels and the EU Emissions Trading System, as well as visits to Portuguese ports and companies focused on terminal operations and shipbuilding.
In addition to a very full and informative conference and training programme, PSW24 will also feature time for high-level networking, including at receptions and gatherings which highlight Portugal’s long maritime history and the beautiful history and location of Lisbon.
The week offers foreign shipowners and managers, as well as representatives from every other maritime discipline, a unique and exciting opportunity to develop important new commercial relationships with the leaders of the Portuguese maritime and alternative energy sectors, as well as major international players.
