The Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) recognised four Vigor work locations, Ketchikan, Vancouver, Swan Island, and Hawaii for safety performance in 2021.
Vigor completed USS William P. Lawrence (DDG) ahead of schedule in early 2022, returning it to service and keeping our skilled workforce safe every day.
Award recognitions
The team in Hawaii was honoured twice, with the "Significance in Safety Achievement" Award and the "Excellence in Safety" Award, while the other three locations all received the "Excellence in Safety Award."
Hawaii was one of just four facilities nationwide to win the "Significance in Safety Achievement" Award. Together with MHI Ship Repair & Services, the Titan company facilities were 1/3 of all those recognised this year.

Enhancement of operation, promotion of safety
SCA honors shipbuilding and repair organisations with the “Excellence in Safety” Award and “Improvement in Safety” Award each year for enhancement of operations and promotion of safety and accident prevention. The “Significance in Safety Achievement” Award is dedicated to shipyards that have had zero fatalities and a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) under 1.0.
