The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has collaborated in a scenario of the MARSEC-23 maritime security exercise, organised by the Navy.
The training consisted of training against a supposed terrorist threat and subsequent action on a ship with illegal immigrants.
PAV hosts MARSEC-23 exercise
The resources that participated in this exercise were the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) through the Port Police, the Valencia Maritime Captaincy, the Civil Guard, the Red Cross, the Health Department of the Government Delegation in the Valencian Community and the National Police Force with different units and services.
On behalf of the Navy, the tug “Las Palmas” and the Valencia Naval Command were also involved in the MARSEC-23 maritime security exercise.
MARSEC-23 advanced maritime exercise
The MARSEC-23 exercise is an advanced maritime exercise, organised by the Navy, which brings together the efforts of different bodies and agencies, civilian or military, governmental or otherwise, and neighbouring countries, in order to achieve the common goal of safeguarding common interests in the different maritime areas.
