United European Car Carriers (UECC) is the provider of sustainable short sea solutions in Europe, and the carrier has through a long time offered a North Sea service route connecting the ports of Zeebrugge, Gothenburg and Drammen on a weekly basis.
Now, Esbjerg has been added to the service. Zeebrugge is the hub of UECC, and from here cargo can be shipped with other regular UECC services to additional network.
Regular UECC services
In April this year, UECC called at Esbjerg Port carrying primarily new cars for the Danish market. In the future, M/V ‘Minchah’ is expected to call at port of Esbjerg every week. The vessel can hold 1200-1400 cars and will discharge 300-500 car at each port call in Esbjerg.
This means that Blue Water will handle all assignments connected to port call coordination
Motorships in Copenhagen is general agent for UECC in Denmark, and Blue Water is assigned the role as port agent in Esbjerg. This means that Blue Water will handle all assignments connected to port call coordination such as authorities, piloting, linesmen, ship chandler, delivery of spares, crew services and keeping all involved parties informed during the port call. Inquiries are handled by Motorships who is ready to assist.
Other rolling goods
MV ‘Minchah’ is a ro/ro ferry characterised by the method of loading cargo, which is rolled from the dock onto the vessel and back again at unloading. Thereby, the vessel with a length of almost 127 metres is ideal for transport of vehicles and other rolling goods as well as project cargo on MAFI trailers.
“Both the Blue Water team and Esbjerg Port are looking forward to this new cooperation, and we are glad that Motorships on behalf of UECC has entrusted us with the agency on the basis of our local expertise and know-how,” says Mikkel Puggard Hansen, Manager Port Service, Blue Water Esbjerg. Port Service and Agency has been a core competence at Blue Water since the very beginning 50 years ago, and Blue Water has specialised staff and equipment to solve any task in and outside of the ports.
