XTRAIM, which will be presented to the German public for the first time, is Thales Group’s (Thales) new weapon sight that offers day/night de-camouflage capabilities, which previously could only be achieved by using several separate pieces of equipment.

XTRAIM is compatible with all shoulder-fired assault rifles and light machine guns, in order to provide users with an unparalleled precision night-firing capability. XTRAIM was designed in close collaboration with users, to guarantee that its ergonomic design and functionalities match their operational requirements.

XTRAIM is a fully integrated sight for daylight operations, combining a reflex red-dot sight with thermal imaging technology, to pick out targets from the background (de-camouflage function).

The high brightness of the reticle in the red-dot sight makes it possible to identify and engage targets, even in bright sunlight. For night-time operations, XTRAIM is also compatible with all types of night vision goggles.

Security Forces: Digital Firing Analysis Tool

Thales also unveiled its Training & Simulation expertise for Security Forces: Digital Firing Analysis Tool, a new training solution based on small arms training capabilities and expertise. It is a patented versatile, portable analysis aid, which is designed to improve skills with simulation input devices, airsoft guns or real firearms, using all types of ammunition (non-lethal cartridges or live ammunition).

It detects, records events, sensor data, shots, video streams, position, etc. and generates markers and real-time qualitative reports, based on AI-optimised data analysis. The tool can be operated during and after the firing action, so as to help the instructor guide the trainees, based on accurate information usually unavailable.

After-Action Review features

It provides unmatched After-Action Review features with detailed actions, weapon handling parameters and a timeline. It also supports the trainees in improving technical skills, tactical know-how and decision making under stress.
