On 3 November 2023, Managing Director of PIL China - Klaus Ku has retired from his role after serving Pacific International Lines (PIL) for close to 30 years. Succeeding him as Managing Director is Anderson Luo, who has joined PIL China on 8 October 2023.
Lars Kastrup, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PIL, said, “On behalf of all at PIL, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Klaus for his long and loyal service in leading PIL China to what it is today. His deep knowledge of China and strong network were instrumental in helping PIL establish ourselves as a valued shipping line in China.”
Change in PIL’s China leadership team
Mr S.S. Teo also conveyed his sincerest appreciation to Klaus for his significant contributions to PIL
Lars Kastrup adds, “Klaus’ unwavering commitment and dedication enabled him to lead PIL China to weather through several storms and challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.”
PIL Executive Chairman - Mr S.S. Teo also conveyed his sincerest appreciation to Klaus for his significant contributions to PIL and hosted a farewell dinner for Klaus on 3 November at PIL China’s office in Shanghai. The dinner also coincided with Klaus’ birthday, and he was joined by his family and close to 50 colleagues from PIL China.
Extensive industry experience
Anderson joins PIL China from global shipping line - Maersk. He has held various leadership positions in China at Maersk, including as its Head of Sales, Head of Customer Service, Head of Operations, and Managing Director of clusters in China.
“With 20 years of track record in senior management responsibilities, Anderson brings with him a wealth of experience and a solid understanding of China’s shipping market, making him well placed to lead PIL China into the future. I look forward to the contributions of Anderson to the company’s continued growth and development,” commented Lars Kastrup.
From 3 November 2023, Klaus has assumed the role of Advisor of PIL China until early 2024, so as to ensure a smooth leadership transition. PIL would like to wish Klaus all the best in his retirement!
