H.E. Major General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Sulaiti, Commander of the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces, on behalf of His Excellency Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem Bin Shaheen Al-Ghanem, Chief of General Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, inaugurated the exhibition of visiting warships that Qatar welcomed at Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2018) at Hamad Port, one of the largest ports in the Middle East.
H.E visited the port and a number of warships in the presence of official delegations, guests, and Qatar Armed Forces and Qatari Emiri Navy officers.
The arrival of warships is one of the main elements of DIMDEX, and this year there are eleven in total from Bangladesh, India, Italy, Oman, Pakistan, UK, and the USA. The Visiting Warships will continue during the leading three-day maritime defence event that ends today (Wednesday), where navies from around the world get to display their latest vessels and showcase their capabilities in protecting trading routes, borders, and shorelines.
