MSC will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in Spain in 2022. This history began on 2 May 1982 when the first offices were opened in Valencia and Barcelona, and today MSC Spain has over 600 staff dedicated to servicing the needs of its customers in the country.
To mark this historic moment, MSC Spain will host a series of events for people who have worked with the company over the years and who have contributed to its success and growth, including those in the local community. This will include a public firework display, that will be launched at the Port of Valencia at midnight on Friday 6th May.

Direct services
Valencia is strategically located in the middle of Spain’s coastline and is well-connected
As part of its ongoing commitment to the region, MSC Group has also invested in a dedicated terminal in Valencia, a key hub for MSC's Mediterranean trade and the main port for Spain.
With direct services to and from all continents, Valencia is strategically located in the middle of Spain’s coastline and is well-connected to the economic areas of Madrid, Eastern Andalucia, and key regions in the Mediterranean corridor, such as Castellon, Valencia, and the Alicante.
Addressing current challenges
The port is one of the busiest in Spain and has a strong international logistics network including good road and rail connections. Additionally, MSC has port terminal investments in Bilbao in the north of Spain and Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, one of the company’s main hubs in the Atlantic.
Ignacio Ballester, Deputy Country Manager - MSC Spain, says, “This anniversary is another opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the Spanish market, which continues to be very important to MSC. We will continue to work closely with our clients to address the current challenges in the industry and to, humbly, further our growth in the country.”
