Leask Marine have completed a 5-month O&M preventative maintenance programme, installing Dynamic Bend Stiffeners (DBS) on cables at the London Array offshore wind farm, in order to help extend the life of their subsea assets.
C-Fenna and C-Force vessels
The programming saw Leask Marine’s C-Fenna and newly commissioned C-Force, working side-by-side to clean marine growth from existing cable protection systems, before installing the Dynamic Bend Stiffener, using a bespoke installation system.
Both vessels worked 24 hours with the C-Force conducting DBS installations, with back-to-back dive team shifts. The C-Fenna worked to place anchors at a total of 212 positions, ready for the C-Force DBS installing operations.
Leask Marine’s new C-Defender work vessels
Supporting vessels on the project included Leask Marine’s new C-Defender work vessels, as well as chartered in CTV’s. Additionally, to the project scope, Leask Marine carried out its civic duty to rescue a total of 3 yachts, which had run aground on the local sandbanks.
