On February 20th, 2022, Fifteen 40HQ containers of cargoes, which were mainly chemical raw materials, traveling by rail from Zhuzhou, Hunan were loaded onto the CULINES vessel - AS FLORA at Mawan Container Terminal (MCT) in the west area of Port of Shekou for their destination Port of Cat Lai in Ho Chi Minh.

This maiden voyage shipping export cargoes with railway containers marked the new development of CULINES one-stop rail-sea intermodal transport.

Combined transport solution

CULINES rail-sea intermodal service offers a combined transport solution that carries laden railway containers from departure directly to destination in no need of transferring to shipping containers. During the current resource shortage of the supply chain, this would improve efficiency and reduce cost, providing higher-quality and more reliable services.

The launch of rail-sea transport is another concrete measure of CULINES to develop value-added logistics. Going forward, CULINES will make efforts to provide regular rail-sea transport and develop other intermodal and value-added services, to facilitate the shipments of inland cargoes through their network within RCEP countries and offer accessible, safe, and efficient supply chain solutions.
