Teknotherm is pleased to announce that the company has received an order from Cemre Shipyard for the delivery of complete HVAC system, for their zero emission electric ferry to be built for Torghatten Nord AS.

The vessel is designed by Norwegian Ship Design and will be operated in route Bognes – Lødingen, which is located in the Northern part of Norway. It is the longest crossing route in Norway, with the largest battery package eve installed to zero emission passenger and car ferries.

Strong collaboration for tailor-made HVAC solution

During the design phase, there has been a strong collaboration among Torghatten Nord, Cemre Shipyard, Norwegian Ship Design and Teknotherm, in order to tailor-make their HVAC solution with better energy efficiency, improved functionality, easier operation, and low maintenance cost – in combination with cost efficiency for equipment delivery and on-board installation.

HVAC system is one of the major energy consumers in electric ferries. With their HVAC recovery system with integrated smart automation system, they can optimise the usage of energy onboard significantly.
