In the period 1st January to 30th September 2021, Borchard Lines’ schedule reliability has remained at its high levels, averaging between 86%-100% on time, consistent over both quarters. This is in comparison to a global industry average of 35.8% (December 2021 figures).
Omitted ports
UK ports have endured substantial delays, and on one service several ports have had to be omitted over a number of sailings. This is despite the vessel being presented on time each week. The omitted ports have been served directly through another of the services.
Borchard Lines in the UK has been able to ensure timely door arrival of cargo through its own trucking service. As the winter approaches, innovative solutions will need to be implemented to ensure consistency of service.
Services
Smaller ships such as in the Line’s services, offering frequency, reliability, and personal service do not offer economies of scale. They do provide clients together with valued partners such as ports and truckers a proper and consistent supply chain.
