Andrey Severilov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at FESCO Transportation Group (FESCO) participated in the panel discussion on possibilities of the Northern Sea Route (NSR), which took place within the framework of the Rosatom week at Expo 2020 Dubai, taking place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In his speech, Andrey Severilov noted the prospects of the Northern Sea Route, such as ensuring stability of global container cargo supply chains and added that the FESCO Transportation Group has extensive experience of operation in the Arctic region and is ready to actively participate in this work.

Till date, the FESCO fleet has 21 vessels, with almost half of them being ice-class vessels, which allows them to carry out transportations along the Northern Sea Route, both accompanied by icebreakers and in independent navigation excursions.

Eastern transport and logistics hub

Chairman of the Board of Directors at FESCO, Andrey Severilov also recalled that an Eastern transport and logistics hub will be created on the territory of Commercial Port of Vladivostok (a FESCO company), as part of the project implemented by the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom State Corporation), in order to organise Eurasian transit route of containerised cargo.

According to Andrey Severilov, the most modern technological solutions will be used for the construction of the new infrastructure.
