La Méridionale is the historic Marseille shipping company. It has contributed to the development of the Corsican economy since 1937. It provides a daily maritime transport service for rolling freight and passengers between Marseille and Corsica as part of a Public Service Delegation. Its mixed freight and passenger ships have been serving Southern Corsica for 70 years through the ports of Ajaccio and Porto-Vecchio.
